Natural habitat and Range: These frogs reside in the marshlands of central Brazil, south of the Amazon River. They inhabit leaf litter on the rain forest floor.

Temperature: Their natural temperature range is between 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Humidity: They prefer an ambient humidity of 80% or higher.

Size: A medium-sized dart frog, reaching 1 ½ inches in length or longer.

Temperament and Experience: This is fairly bold frog species but don’t seem to be as bold as the red or yellow galactonotus. They are very hardy, making it a great species for beginners.

Terrarium Setup: Give 5-10 gallons of space per frog. These frogs do well in pairs of 1 male and 1 female or in small groups. They are mainly a terrestrial species, but they can also be somewhat arboreal.

Breeding: Easy to breed. They reach sexual maturity in about 2 years. They may need to be in small groups to stimulate the breeding process and then be separated into pairs. Females lay clutches of 4-8 eggs, every week or so underneath coco huts.
